Shipping & Returns

Shipping Information

All items are shipped via USPS. I ship First Class Mail. You will get a notification once your order has been processed.

If you are sending the item as a gift, please let me know in the Contact form. I'd be happy to enclose a gift note for you as well!

For all non-US orders, including Canada, I ship via USPS First Class Mail International, aka Airmail. There is no way to track international first class mail packages once they leave my hands. Delivery times for international packages vary; the average, in my experience, is between 7 and 30 business days. Remember, your package might have to cross oceans and continents and will always have to pass through your country's customs office. This can take a while.

Some countries apply import taxes and customs fees on all packages over a certain price coming into the country. I can't know if your country will charge you or what the fee might be. All customs fees and duties are the responsibility of the buyer. In accordance with international laws, I include a receipt in every international package I mail out.

----->Please contact me before ordering if you would like to pay an extra fee to have your items shipped via Registered Mail, which includes insurance and tracking.

Each piece is hand made and delicate by nature. Returns are only accepted if the jewelry arrives damaged. You will need to contact Lock and Key within the first 24 hours of receiving the package to report any damages.

*Custom orders are NOT returnable. This includes rings created in your specified size, items created specifically for you, or any item that I altered to your specifications, including (but not limited to) metal changes, necklace chain lengths, bracelet lengths, etc.

Packaging and Care

. . . { PACKAGING } . . .

All items come beautifully packaged and ready for gift-giving, most in Lock and Key boxes.

. . . { JEWELRY CARE } . . .

You will greatly prolong the life of your pieces if you treat them well. Try not to swim, shower, exercise or sleep with your jewelry on. Over time, your brass, copper, sterling silver, and goldfill might begin to patina or tarnish. This is totally normal. If you do not like the look of the aged patina, it's easy to clean your metal jewelry with an old toothbrush and some whitening or baking soda toothpaste. Store your clean and dry jewelry in plastic bags to keep it protected from the air. I do not recommend sleeping with your jewelry on, as it creates unnecessary wear and tear. The worst place to keep your jewelry is all loosey-goosey in the bathroom - the humidity drastically speeds up tarnishing.

A note about oxidized sterling silver and copper: the oxidization is a chemical reaction on the surface of the metal. It is totally safe to wear and will not color your skin. Over time, it will age into its own unique patina for a lovely, broken-in effect. Do not clean oxidized jewelry with anything but soap and water unless you want to expose the metal color underneath.
